Assam is bracing for another spell of heavy rainfall as the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati, has issued a yellow alert for 26 districts. The warning remains in effect overnight, with several areas likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and heavy showers.
According to the weather office, southern Assam, including Guwahati, is expected to receive significant rainfall. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during thunderstorms and lightning.
The districts under the yellow alert include Bajali, Barpeta, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup Metropolitan, Udalguri, Darrang, Morigaon, Sonitpur, Nagaon, Hojai, Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar, Sribhumi and Hailakandi, among others.
